Use of the Plant a Tree Grow a School website, any of its services and any website powered by Plant a Tree Grow a School, implies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding further.

Our mission is to reforest small pockets of native Irish woodland and raise funds for our school.

The on-line donation facility featured on our plantatreegrowaschool.ie website allows you to donate money to West Cork Sudbury School (WCSS), an Irish registered charity (CRA 20206027), through our Plant a Tree Grow a School project.

We are part of a movement towards a very different model of education, where students have an equal part in the democratic running of the school itself and where they decide what, when and how they learn.

WCSS is an Irish registered charity (CRA 20206027). The Educational Provision at WCSS is in line with Section 14 of the Education (Welfare) Act, 2000, assessed by Tusla’s Alternative Education Assessment and Registration Service.

Trees will be planted free-of-charge for each tree donation. You’ll receive a carbon-neutral eCertificate of Participation in the project and, if you opt in, we’ll keep you updated on progress with news, photos, videos and schooling opportunities from the project.

As an independent school perhaps the biggest challenge we face is funding – as we are curriculum-free, we have no financial support from the state.

Your donation may be used in a number of ways, including day-to-day running costs, student sponsorship, fair wages for staff, school trips, equipment, and more. Any donation, no matter what the amount, ensures democratic education remains an option to students throughout West Cork and beyond!

There is no cost for planting a tree with West Cork Sudbury School (WCSS) – the School’s students, staff and supporters will plant your tree for you in newly managed areas in West Cork where the landscape was once thick with woodland. In addition, our trees are fully donated by Future Forests, hand-picked to suit each planting site – all native species, in as diverse a range as possible. These trees will be left to grow for posterity. Your trees will become part of a network of diverse woodlands, and havens for wildlife. Arks to support all life.

All donations made on the Plant a Tree Grow a School website are processed immediately and are final. Refunds are not available unless unauthorised card use (as described above) is proven.

Plant a Tree Grow a School’s Privacy & Cookie Policy forms part of these Terms of Service. By agreeing to these Terms of Service you also give your consent to the way we may handle your personal information under that Policy.

You must at all times use the Plant a Tree Grow a School website and its associated services in a responsible and legal manner.

You as a user must not:

• misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any other person or organisation;
• use the website to send junk email or ’spam’ to people who do not wish to receive email from you;
• use the website to conduct, display or forward surveys, contests, pyramid schemes or chain letters;
• interfere with, or disrupt, the service or services or networks connected to the service.

The Plant a Tree Grow a School website contains links to the websites of other charities and organisations. The inclusion of a link to another website does not imply endorsement of its content or opinions. Your relationship and any transactions with other organisations through their websites or otherwise are your own responsibility.

Plant a Tree Grow a School may from time to time select partners offering relevant information and services that we believe will enhance our provision for visitors to our site. If you choose to use their services you do so at your own risk and we are not responsible for any aspect of the information or services offered by them.

The names Plant a Tree Grow a School, plantatreegrowaschool.ie, the Plant a Tree Grow a School logo and any other product and service names that we may present on the site from time to time may not be used in connection with any product or service that is not Plant a Tree Grow a School’s, nor in any manner that is likely to cause confusion, or in any way that may disparage or discredit Plant a Tree Grow a School. Other trademarks, service marks or logos that appear on the site, in particular (but not exclusively) those of other charities, are the property of their respective owners and are likely to be registered trademarks and subject to restrictions as to their use. They must not be used without the express permission of the trademark owner.

All content on the Plant a Tree Grow a School site is owned by Plant a Tree Grow a School, our fellow charities, or other original providers, and is protected by the applicable intellectual property and proprietary rights and laws. You may copy content for your own personal, non-commercial use provided you do not alter it or remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice. No other use of the site’s content is permitted without the express prior permission of Plant a Tree Grow a School, and, where applicable, the copyright holder. Plant a Tree Grow a School will make every effort to ensure that the website and other services are available continuously but reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue all or any part at any time with or without notice. Plant a Tree Grow a School reserves the right to modify or replace these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any change shall be effective immediately as it appears on the site. Each time you use the service you are deemed to have accepted any such change.

In the event that you commit a breach of these Terms and Conditions, Plant a Tree Grow a School reserves the right at its sole discretion to immediately and without notice suspend or permanently deny your access to all or part of the site and services.

You may discontinue use of the site and services at any time. These Terms and Conditions will continue to apply to past use by you.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland.x

In no circumstances will Plant a Tree Grow a School be liable for any loss or damages, whether direct or consequential arising out of (i) your use of the Plant a Tree Grow a School site and services or your inability to do so (ii) your reliance on any content and/or (iii) goods and services in any way associated with the site and services.
